Those who appreciate quality trust STABILA.
Precise measurement is one of the most fundamental aspects of manual work. Professionals therefore require measuring tools that they can absolutely rely on for accuracy. In any weather and in the harshest construction site conditions. Tough, durable and accurate tools that are easy to use. STABILA designs and produces measuring equipment of exactly this calibre. And has done so since 1889.

From the initial idea through to production, STABILA implements the entire process chain. STABILA product quality, recognised throughout the world, is ensured by means of a high degree of in-house manufacturing and the highest quality materials. STABILA products stand out thanks to their lasting accuracy, extremely robust construction, ease of use and application benefits.

A family business founded on tradition
The brothers Anton and Franz Ullrich began producing folding rules in the middle of the 19th century. In 1886 the brothers, from the Southern Palatinate region of Germany, obtained a patent for a spring-loaded joint for folding rules that became the foundation of the company’s subsequent success.

Shortly afterwards, Gustav Ullrich, one of Franz’s sons, established the ‘Ruler Factory’ in the town of Annweiler am Trifels in Germany’s Palatinate region in 1889 and began to produce and market folding rules with the spring-loaded joints that are still common today.

In its development of new products, STABILA is orientated towards the needs of tradespeople on site while also focusing on innovation in measurement and production technology.
