100 trainees come to visit – second My1STABILA Day in Annweiler

For the second time now, trainees from all over Germany were invited to take a closer look at the STABILA headquarters in Annweiler on 4 July 2024. Over 100 trainees came on a visit to the heart of the Southern Palatinate and were given the opportunity to look behind the scenes at the place where the famous yellow spirit levels are made.

STABILA has been actively fostering new talent for four years with the My1STABILA campaign. The idea behind it is simple: motivate young people to go into a trade and show them how important trades are. To achieve this, STABILA usually goes straight to the source and visits young talented people at training centres and Chambers of Trade across Germany to familiarise them with the advantages of the company's products.

On My1STABILA Day, 100 trainees – 20 each from five different training centres – were then invited to Annweiler and given a unique opportunity to see the plant on the beautiful Wine Route with their own eyes.

Each group was assigned a guide, who was their direct point of contact for the entire day and who guided them through the programme.

At around 9am, the first guests arrived by bus from Saarbrücken, Bühl, Wetzlar, Limburg and Pforzheim, excited about the day ahead. STABILA’s trainees waited for them at the gates, gave them name badges and provided them with initial information about the schedule. Each group was assigned a guide, who was their direct point of contact for the entire day and who guided them through the programme. This year, for the first time, each group was assigned a STABILA influencer. That in itself was a highlight for many.

After Ulrich Dähne, CEO, and Holger Binder, Director Sales and Marketing, officially opened the event, the groups split off and visited the various stations. There was a bit of everything on offer: a product training session on the Campus, a tour of the plant, the R-Type challenge with great prizes, a photo booth, and a popular T-shirt spraying station with various templates of the STABILA logo. The station with the Central Association of the German Construction Industry (ZDB) and WorldSkills Germany was a real highlight. World champion Pierre Holze laid bricks in the shape of Annweiler's coat of arms, complete with a Type R 300, in a few hours and responded to the many questions asked by the interested trainees.

„The My1STABILA Day is an absolute highlight for our young people. World champion Pierre Holze was particularly impressive this time; he left a lasting impression on our budding bricklayers with his kills.“

Carsten Pabst, Head of Training at the Limburg / Weilburg training centre

Of course, the guests were also well fed. The trainees had time to recuperate with a filling burger and fries at lunchtime. Those with a sweet tooth could enjoy ice cream for dessert. Once replenished, everyone visited the remaining stations during the second half of the day.

The very positive feedback received after the event encourages our team to continue in the same vein and shows that the effort is well worth it.

Even with a few rain showers, this year's event was a success, and the guests – over 100 of them in total – left the STABILA premises at the end of the day in beautiful sunshine and with smile on their faces.
